Sweet saccharine chorus. Just the way I like it. One of my favorite female vocalists. Hopefully there won’t be anything like “Lightbringer.” Awful song.

Know when you check out a band's discography and you find that one song you think blows away everything else they've done? That happened to me with the title track from Gods of Debauchery.

Maybe I'll revisit their first 3 to see if that changes.

New song is pretty good. Great cover art!

As usual, she's got a hell of a nice voice... especially near the end there. Looking forward to the album for sure.

Oh, this is going to kick so much ass that there won't be a single person sitting down for the entire summer. Love this band and love Adrienne Cowan's utterly immaculate voice, can't wait for this baby to drop. :headbang:

Similar style/quality/favorite tracks to the title track on that album for me:

"The Cursed Muse"
(seeing live helps)

"Shadow On an Endless Sea" and "Dare to Live"

Also, This God is Dead

Do you suppose it is a coincidence that this album releases on the same day as the Elden Ring DLC? The album art and lyrics of Almosttown seem very Fromsoft-inspired to me. Moreso Bloodborne than Elden Ring, but still.

I watched those linked videos and revisited their first and third albums. I still think Gods of Debauchery (title track) is their best song, but it's certainly not the only good one.

I saw them play in 22 or 23 I guess. Adrienne's voice is absolutely top tier. Watching her go from beautiful cleans to growls without skipping a beat is really something to witness.

Their last album was awesome. Truly impressive to be able to keep it coherent and interesting through that runtime.

I remember when they were still a local band up here a whole ass decade ago. Even back then, super young and new, everyone in New England metal knew they were gonna become something, and that is exactly what is happening with them now. It's always nice seeing your friends succeed.

I can tell this is going to be an improvement over Gods of Debauchery. Might be less melodic than Emerald Sea maybe?

Potentially. I personally really liked Gods, although I fully admit I didn't take to the length of it at first, only fully digesting the album after several listens. I did really like how it leaned more into the extreme side of their sound, so hopefully that won't be too diminished comparatively speaking on this new one.

This was great. Glad we got a more extreme metal single in there. I going from Almosttown to this was quite a shift and range of styles as usual, can't wait to see what other surprises are in store in the album!
