Always keen to discover more of this type of stuff.

Love the sound of Schizophrenia, Campo de Extermínio, Immortal Force etc.

My examples of modern classics in this vein.

and pretty much anything Vomitor etc!

Discuss and recommend!

The thrash thats coming out of Norway currently is clearly influenced by the thrash side of Cogumelo. Wouldn't really call any of it a straight continuation of it though but still worth checking that scene out.

As for trv chaotic Cogumelo stuff there is ofc Bloody Vengenace who released their 2nd album last year.

I'd like to recommend Death Yell, and שְׁאוֹל (Sheol)

https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/D ... ell/653690
https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/% ... ple/393991

I find both of these albums to be quite fascinating, I hope you enjoy.

Oath of Cruelty definitely has some Brazil in their sound in addition to the obvious German elements.

Love this kind of stuff. Master of Cruelty (especially the first album), Perversion (US), and Slutvomit (especially Copulation of Cloven Hooves) should be of interest to you.

They are ok. I think they sound more European than Sudamerican though.

Have you checked out the album Holocausto put out in 2019, Diário de Guerra? I consider it a modern classic, every bit as good as Campo! Deathly Scythe and Enforcer from Chile are both good new(er) bands.

Force of Darkness from Chile. Especially the debut should satisfy your Sarcófago cravings.

Invincible Force have a bit of that sound mixed in with early Morbid Angel.

You definitely need more Pseudostratiffied Epithelium from Costa Rica. Though ONLY their Into The Flames CD/LP.
Unfortunately the complete album is missing on Youtube.

The follow-up Dolonia isn't as good as Into The Flames. Try to find their debut Into The Flames as quickly as possible.

Edit: found at least a cool live song from Into The Flames, recorded live like 20 years after the studio recording, but the heck:

I liked the debut. It had Sepultura vibes.

Cool. I only checked youtube quickly, as it was there a decade ago or something, when recommending it to someone else. Cheers for the follow-up here. Damn, listening to it right away again at work on the bandcamp page...great record. There is a certain melancholic spirit included, I reckon.

Hopefully there will be a new MORTEM-album someday as announced in this brandnew interview:

Evil Damn is a must-listen for those following this thread. Their album Necronomicon from 2021 was one of my favorite records that year. Features the vocalist of Goat Semen. Big Anal Vomit vibes, but cleaner and more precise without losing any of that band's raw energy. Just fucking killer stuff.
