Why not? We have Priest and Maiden threads for what's considered post their last classic. From what feeling out I've done it seems most think The Dark Ride was the last great Helloween album. So I'm curious as to what this board thinks.

I'm not submitting a list because I haven't really actively searched through this era/looking for recommendations of sorts.

I have 7 Sinners and Straight Out Of Hell, but only put any time into 7S really. Its a cool record. Great? No, but a good listen.

Gambling with the Devil and 7 Sinners are the only albums in this era I'm that well acquainted with but those two are pretty great. I remember trying Straight Out of Hell when it first came out but it didn't stand out that much for some reason. I could stand to give more of this stuff a listen.

All the Weikath songs really, he is the only consistent songwriter in the band. Deris is very hit or miss, the king of filler tracks. And the new guitar player sucks.

Their biggest mistake was letting Grapow and Kusch go.

Chronological order because it's hard to rank them:

1. Never Be A Star (although this song is kinda the same as Perfect Gentleman)
2. The King for a 1000 Years - absolute masterpiece!
3. Pleasure Drone - huge riff in this song
4. Mrs. God - this is the kind of song that only Helloween could pull off
5. As Long As I Fall - super catchy and the only song on Gambling With the Devil that I really love
6. Raise the Noise - flute solos and metal sounds like a bad combo, but it works
7. Nabataea - lots of Helloweenisms in this song that I really enjoy
8. Far From The Stars - There is a really great stomping groove in this song that is also something Helloween excels at
9. Waiting For The Thunder - another catchy melodic tune
10. Wicked Game - no idea why this is a bonus track. It's the best song on the new album.

Grosskopf is a great writer too.

I actually like the modern era way better than the Grapow/Kusch era.

Helloween's outputs have always been hit and miss for me. I liked Keeper of the Seven Keys: The Legacy as well as Straight Out of Hell but the other studio records sine The Dark Ride were somewhere between average and underwhelming. The first five songs are amazing, the final five just there to complete the list. I've never managed to listen to Rabbits Don't Come Easy from start to finish yet which is why this album is the only one to not be represented with at least one track.

1. The King for a Thousand Years - not only the best post The Dark Ride song but the best Helloween song ever and as epic and entertaining as it gets

2. Occasion Avenue - Cinematic and sinister, epic yet twisted, maybe the band's most courageous song writing ever

3. Pumpkins United - Just great to hear former and current members together in one epic track with all classic Helloween trademarks

4. Kill It - Fast and brutal, at times sounding like Judas Priest anno Painkiller

5. Nabataea - Great epic power metal song

6. Battle's Won - Energy aplenty and quite catchy

7. Mrs. God - Short and sweet party song with cool lyrics

8. As Long As I Fall - Catchy but somewhat sinister which makes for an intriguing combination

9. Asshole - Odd lyrics but quite unique because of that

10. Are You Metal? - Energetic song for live shows and records
