They used to be one of the most consistent labels out there, but they haven't released anything in 6 months and just posted this cryptic message on Facebook:
Quote:
This will be my final post behind the Fallen Empire pages. From here on out, someone else will be handling them as I no longer have any interest in doing it myself. The accounts will remain active as a one-way medium of communication to keep you all informed when new releases are ready. Additionally, we will no longer be publishing preview tracks before releases are done, as I no longer see the value in that practice. Instead, we will simply publish works when they are finished and that's how it will go until Fallen Empire ends. Goodbye.

Their Big Cartel is also currently closed.

Markov (dude behind Tschornobog and like ten other bands) mentioned a while ago that the label was closing, and they're basically just riding out the year with the planned releases already on the docket and then that's it. I don't know the details behind it but it certainly sounds like the dude is just throwing his hands up and wants to walk away from it all.

Pretty much what BastardHead said. FE made a few other facebook/instagram posts preceding that "final post" where he pretty much stated just that. He's discontinuing the label and the store will only remain open long enough to put out the releases that are planned for the next few months. It's a bummer, they put out some great stuff in their short lifespan.

Interesting. Wonder if he's burnt out or just wasn't making money (or both). Doing Name Your Price for everything on their Bandcamp always seemed like a blessing for fans, but maybe not the best business move. It's one of those labels that clearly has an ear for really special, unique music, so it will be sad to see them go.

As an artist: the label turned a profit last year, the dude is just burnt out and stressed from the managerial aspects of owning a label.
