So it appears the title track from that fabled third Dragonlord album Dominion has dropped out of nowhere and is currently available on Spotify (sorry can't provide links right now).

This album seems to have been stuck in limbo for years so it's surprising to see this pop up without much fanfare at all?

Listening to it and it seems like we've never moved on from 2005.... still that unmistakable symphonic black metal Eric loves so much, maybe with a bit more polish to the sound.

Not sure if I can get excited for this anymore tbh and you always have to worry about something that was written years ago being released....

Good song, but that cover is awful.

Apparently, it is coming out September 21 of this year according to iTunes. And that cover in the video seems to be the single cover. Here is the actual album art:

I gave Black Wings of Destiny a listen a couple months ago but wasn't particularly sold on it. I'll be curious to see how this turns out with it having been so long to develop.

I remember buying Rapture when I was a teenager and listening to it a fair bit back then. Total blind purchase. Not a spectacular album but it definitely has its moments. Will give this one a spin. New song sounds solid.

They do Dimmu Borgir better than Dimmu Borgir can do Dimmu Borgir now. Complete Enthrone Darkness Triumphant worship, just as Black Wings of Destiny was, only with a PEM-style clean vocal break in there, and I am totally fine with it.

Cover art is insane, too.

Finally. I thought this album would never be released given the fact how long Eric had been promising it (kinda like Tool). Cover art is awesome, and the song is an interesting mix of Testament, Dimmu Borgir and Carach Angren. Great stuff!

And I'm still hoping for Katy Perry to do another Christian album.

Cool! It's been way too long for Dragonlord. I don't consider them black metal really. It's basically Testament with some superficial symphonic BM bells and whistles. Always been fine with that.

You could never complain about these guys, "too much black, not enough metal". Songs still kick my ass after all these years, especially "The Curse of Woe".

Man that cover is damn cool but I wish bands would stop ruining covers with their damn logos. Yeah it’s your album and all but why don’t you just try to make it part of the artwork instead of being lazy and pasting it over like a cheap watermark?

Everything about this release turned me off... until I saw the cover art. Definitely interested in checking this out.

Second preview track from the album is up on Spotify - "Northlanders"

https://open.spotify.com/track/7d8kJc3bxpu13GqJ3NNa9m?si=8vMBlY9sQi66xuSdI2gK4g

It's more of what we expect from Eric, so if that's your thing you'll probably love it as well. There's a really cool synth run in this one which was the standout for me.
