I went down an excel rabbit hole and came out the other end with a bunch of ridiculous graphs and charts analyzing 30+ years of Manowar lyrics. You can see what I came up with here:

https://isleyunruh.com/manowar-lyrics-depth-analysis/

I probably (definitely) spent way more time on this than I should have, but it was fun to sort out all the info when I finished!

Wow, that first chart on the screen looks like a modern art piece.

This was a really cool analysis as a person who likes to look at these kinds of infographics and charts. You probably did spend too much time but I keep many lists up to date and can understand the joy that comes out of this. You've got a really cool website so I'll come back for more :)

About half my posts are metal related, you might find a few more things you like...I also might have to revisit this Manowar data down the road, still plenty of charts I can make :)

This has to be the greatest first post in the history of this forum.

Good work, I suppose. And yeah, that chart is trippy.

This is something I've often wondered about, but never thought anyone would actually do it. Great job!

I laughed when I saw the most-used word from Gods of War is "thy." Great work here!

What kind of pre-processing did you apply to the lyrics ?

Do you remove repeating choruses or bridges ?

For instance, in a song such as "Battle hymn", do you count 24 "kill", or just 8 because the "kill" chorus happens threee times.

A very interesting analysis. Some of the graphs are really hard to read, due to the small size. As someone pointed out, it would be great to read more about the methodology.
