Seems like this is final decision. His work on Archaic Course and Empiricism is brilliant.

Damn, but at least new album is on the way. Hope they keep the momentum gained with Winter Thrice.

That's too bad. I have to admit, I don't know his contributions in this band. I don't think he has done any songwriting. But still, being in a band for so long definitely means something, and the riffs in Borknagar are always a treat.

This does suck but honestly the only way Borknagar ends is if Øystein Brun calls it quits.

I have been writing history with Borknagar for the past 20 years, this has now come to an end. I retire with an abundance of memories and experiences and friends all over the world. Thank you all who have been a part of this and made it possible and good luck for the future. Jens.

I enjoyed his lead work with the band. I hope that their next lead guitarist contributes plenty of guitar solos as well.

The new album has been written according to the band's Facebook page.

That's really too bad, I've enjoyed his work.

The last few Borknagar albums have been pretty fun. Nothing absolutely groundbreaking, but just really solid releases.

They haven't been bad releases, but I have not been able to get into their work for over 10 years.
