I like both tracks tough I admit that they sound very predictable. Anyway the fast tempo and the melodies are good so I dig them.

Another released song, and yeah, it's boring.

What the fuck were with those clean vocals? The way he says "WARRULD" reminds me of Tommy Wiseau...

Cool start, but man does it ever shit the bed.

Had they released it a couple of hrs later, I would have been able to hear it in better conditions but anyway...

Some riffs/ideas are nice but it might be the least catchy song they've written. Weird choice for a promo track. Would have preferred something with Netta singing...

And yeah he clean vocal segment is almost a moodkiller :/

LOL I was like, the clean vocals can't be that bad, can it? Yea, it's not good. He has never been a good vocalist, I am not a fan of him at all. The song overall is decent enough though. Good instrumentation and melodies throughout.

It started good but when the chorus started all went to the toilet.

Thing is, their clean vocals were great on earlier albums - I love Wanderer and that bridge in One More Magic Potion and all that - but it sounds like he's trying to do some halfway-between-clean-and-harsh-thing, and that almost never works out.

Didn't Markus do all the clean vocals back then though? I'm not sure we have ever really heard Petri doing clean vocals in Ensiferum before this.

Yeeeeeeah the song itself was fine if a little bland just like the other three so far but man did those clean vocals suck.

I thought it was Sami doing the cleans here, but I might be mistaken...

Anyway, I've kindaaaa warmed up to the song. Still average but has its moments

The initial part is good but then the chorus comes and...holy shit, that was REALLY bad.

At lest the other tracks were fine.

Christ, I actually thought the song was half-decent until the singing strolled along and stuck its dick in the mashed potatoes. Bummer.

Surprise, this album doesn't suck. The start isn't perfect but it keeps getting better and better. My highlights so far are ''Feast with Valkyries'', ''Don't You Say'' and ''God Is Dead''. I would give it around 75 to 80 percent after a first try.

Two listens for me and its ok so far

Feels very rushed as if they were under obligation to release something.

I will probably swap God Is Dead and Don't you say with their alternative versions because the clean vocals vrry much destroy standard ensiferumsongs. One sounds like a alestorm song and I have no idea who Marcus(?) is trying to imitate on the other track.

Also both Hail To The Victor and I Will Never Kneel sound very underdeveloped.

Thats it. I need more listens though but for now that's it.

That Requiem outro to God Is Dead is hilarious btw :D

King of Valkyries and God is Dead was pretty good but it's more of an eh album.

I think on paper this is probably better than Unsung Heroes and One Man Army, but it was a real struggle for me to get through it. Maybe I have to give it another try, but I genuinely can't remember anything from the album besides the chorus to "Don't You Say." It's pretty bad when the best song on Two Paths can't even contend with the worst one on Victory Songs.

I think it's fine. Not really amazing in any way, in no way does it possibly hold a candle to the first 3 Ensiferum albums, but it's got some good songs and never really sucks (unless you can't stand the clean vocals, which I can tolerate). However, while I had good experiences with the songs, a lot of them were pretty forgettable, and I'm not sure if I'd ever come back to this album.

Of course, it could just be me being a fanboy of these guys; they were the metal band that made me say to myself, "You know what? I wanna be a metalhead!" but I'd still give it a 70-75 after the first 2 listens.

That thing is still ringing in my ears.

Ok now that I listened to it again, I'm still along the 7/10 album but man God is Dead is such a fun song. When Petri sings it of course.

Another snoozefest imo. This is total rubbish from beginning to end. They seem to have lost all ability to write anything remotely good since Unsung Heroes and this is coming from a huge Ensiferum fan, not a hater at all. Not even sure i'll even bother listening to any of their future material. I guess I'll just have to stick with the first 4 albums...

I'm huge fan of the band, but this album is horrible. This and Unsung Heroes are their worst imo.

We'll see how it turns out. I liked parts of the last album- it felt VERY frontloaded though.
