Yeah, I'm pretty happy with that one. Seems more prog than power to my ear, which is a good thing. Don't think It'll take my #1 MCD spot though (there's actual stiff competition there).

The new Galneryus should be ok, but I don't like the drum sound.

Just finished listening to the new Galneryus. It's /really/ good. They dialed the euro-power glory setting to 11 for most of album which is awesome. Musically I'd put it between Angel of Salvation and Under the Force of Courage without much influence from Vetelgyus but I'd have to hear it a few more times to be sure.

At any rate, stellar album. Probably gonna make my top 5 for the year.

Eh, I had more mixed feelings about Ultimate Sacrifice. The opener and two closing epics are excellent, for sure, but everything in between is dull and tasteless--it's patently obvious all the effort went towards those book-end tracks, but hey, they were really good book-ends, so there's that.

You didn't like Shadow Within? That's my favorite.

Oh what the fuck--"The Shadow Within" wasn't added to my Zune with the rest of the album (fuckin' thing's a decade old, so it does weird shit like this all the time), so I didn't actually get to hear it at work. It's not quite as good as the other tracks I mentioned, but it is quite good. Tracks 3, 5, 6, and 7 are still super dull, though.

This new Galneryus record is album of the year material in my book. I liked every single song at first try. Favorite tune so far is ''Rising Infuriation''. I will let that sink in and give the album a few more spins over the next few days.

Just ordered the new Ningen-Isu (along with three more of their albums I didn't have). This will put me at 20 albums in my Ningen-Isu collection. It just makes me sad that I realized I could probably pay off a credit card or buy a used car for that kind of money. But Ningen-Isu!

Yeah, I got the new one on order too (limited edition). This will push me up to 20 (21 if you count that split single with King's Show) as well. There's two full-lengths I'm missing - both are out of print and one is stupidly expensive. I don't have any of the live albums, but I do have two compilations.

I will place an order on CDJapan next weekend. Could you tell me whether the limited edition of the new Ningen-Isu is really worth some extra cash? As far as I'm informed, there are only seven live songs on it. Is it still an entire concert or just an excerpt from a concert? If it's just an excerpt, I would rather buy the regular edition of the new album and purchase the last live album apart.

I counted the split and have the double live album, so you have me beat for sure! So, I'm slowly getting there. Which two are out of print, by the way?

These two:

https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/% ... %AB/164352
https://www.metal-archives.com/albums/% ... %BA/164356

The psycho-dwarf one goes for over $100. A bit too rich for my blood (I haven't tried pursuing it lately). Dudemanguy owns it though. The other one is pricey, but no where near as bad last time I checked.

Album trailer for the upcoming Erebos is out. Doesn't sound as good as the first EP but I'm probably still going to buy it.

Now if only they'd stop using that godforsaken alarm sound in between samples . . .

The problem isn't Victor. It's YouTube. They have a pay service called YouTube Red, and any label that doesn't sign up for it is blocked. Victor won't sign up and is therefore blocked.

Replace the "tube" in the URL with "pak." So youpak.com. Keep the rest the same. You'll get the video.

Oh, neat. I never knew that little trick. O:

More importantly, this Lovebites group seems to be exactly what I've been craving these past few weeks.

Amazon.jp and HMV.jp are probably your best bet.

yesasia.com might have some stuff and if you're looking for old/out of print stuff, fromjapan.co.jp has a nice aggregator for Yahoo auctions and some other marketplace type stores. It's a bit pricy though and you have to watch out for expired listings.

Has anyone checked out 黒薔薇王国's full-length debut Black Roses? It was released two days ago under Black-listed Productions. I've been looking forward to it for quite a while. Here's the trailer:

I normally despise metalcore, but this is the catchiest thing I've ever heard in that genre. Fucking amazing band.

found the love bites album online. A bit of mixed feelings. The fast songs are amazing, great riffing bloody amazing solo's, but the more catchier songs are " too much already heard before". I Always have this issue with power metal. Even masterpieces like Helloweens Keeper of the seven leys part 1, i Always find some songs that are meh to me. And i don't know why. It makes it hard for me to name my all time favorite band because of that. There are only 2 albums i know completely out of my head and these are the number of the beast and Reign in Blood. Every other so called masterpiece there are Always songs don't like. That started already back in the 80's. Satan's court in the act? Only good song on that one is Break free? Angelwith ST album? Only angelwitch i like. Tokyo blade's Night of the blade? Only Unleash the beast and title song.

The more i write down this text, the more i realise it happens almost with every album there is. You name a classic, and i Always can name a lesser song? Does this make me a lesser metalhead?

I thought the Lovebites album was great from start (er, okay, maybe not that minute-long intro track) to finish.

So I stumbled across what I think is a new DOLL$BOXX album on Spotify which was totally unexpected. I had no idea they had reformed? Anyone able to shed more light on their status and this release?

Sounds much heavier than their previous album so far!

Hah pretty much my reaction... so far so good, maybe not as instantly catchy as Dolls Apartment, and Fuki's vocals sound a bit different, maybe influenced by her other bands? But yeah I'm digging it.

Really? I know they did that for their previous album and it was awesome. Couldn't find any from this new 'high $pec' EP though. Links?

Yeah, I had no idea more DB was in the works either. The new EP is really good but also pretty different from the album. Also did anyone else notice how the guitar work on track 4 sounds a whole lot like Rie aka Suzaku?

The DOLL$BOXX EP sounds quite solid. I might pick it up next year.

This one is on iTunes and Amazon if you can spare the $5. I wish the album had been like that.

The song is called "Hysteria Siberiana" and it kills!!! If you like Death / Thrash Metal be sure to not miss this record when it comes out (September 16th, 2017 via UNHOLY PROPHECIES).

Listen to the song here: https://unholyprophecies.bandcamp.com/a ... pressed-cd

Picked it up in Shibuya last week. Good stuff.
