Post subject:  What's Post-Metal?

As simple as a question can be, what is Post-Metal? Is it considered a metal genre? How does it sound? Is it cool or annoying? So, can you please explain it to me?

Thanks

I'm not a mod or anything, but there is a thread meant for this exact question literally at the top of the forum.

atmospheric sludge/post-rock-inspired metal. Neurosis are considered the forefathers of the movement. But yeah, there's a new stickied thread for this exact sort of question at the top of the forum.

The atmo-sludge part is kinda obsolete these days AFAIK, because bands like Alcest, Deafheaven and Sólstafir can be considered post-metal. Basically prominent post-rock elements within a metal environment.

I'm glad you asked! it is actually a misnamed group of bands/sound. Post metal as a name of this sound i'm afraid has been disguarded and declared false by all parties involved do to the fact that metal is forever making it imposible for anything to be "Post Metal". Thanks for asking! I'm glad I could officially clear that up for ya. It has been decided.
