Nearly 30 years ago (17th dec 1983, to be more concrete) Iron Maiden (along with Ozzy, MSG, Priest, Krokus
Def Leppard, Quiet Riot and the Scorpions) played in Dortmund (GER) on the so called Heavy Metal Night.

I just discovered that this show of Maiden is available on youtube in really fantastic quality in respect to
the age of the filmed document (it was shown early 1984 in german TV) and I just had to share it with you…

Maiden's at (one of  ) their peak(s) and it's so awesome to see this.

Enjoy!

01. Sanctuary - 00:15
02. The Trooper - 04:48
03. Revelations - 09:00
04. Flight Of Icarus - 15:28
05. 22 Acacia Avenue - 19:03
06. The Number Of The Beast - 25:30
07. Run To The Hills - 31:30

Filmed at Rock and Pop Festival, Dortmund, Westfallenhalle, Germany, 1983.

Ah, this is a good one. I got it on my Early Days DVD :) This may be the peak of Bruce's voice, such power!

This, and the whole England '88 show are the greatest footage of Iron Maiden at their creative peak. Bruce's voices was perfect, what a shame that they only played a bunch of songs :( 80s Maiden was one of the great musical momentums of heavy metal, period.

Youtube is actually a great place to find full concerts, both well-recorded and terribadly-recorded. I say this thread should be dedicated to finding those and posting them here.

Also hopefully they take it as a sign they're not meant to make more albums.

If we're gonna be using this thread to showcase old and rare Iron Maiden shows, then here's my contribution.

Bruce's very first show with the band in Bologna, Italy in 1981.

Thank you for this! Never heard Purgatory with Dickinson before, such a perfect song for his lyrical voice. I'd like to hear him singing strange world or prodigal soon too, never found them.

There's a video of that concert?? Damn, I feel left out now. I hunted down a digital copy of the audio years ago, but I was not aware of the fact that it was filmed.

I miss this agression in Bruce's voice; outburst of emotions in the form of that shriek he does. I have seen Maiden live, in 2008, and while he still pulls off an intense performance, I don't think he can match these days, where he's going right for the throat.

Some more of the good ol' days. Meaning about 10 years before I was born :P

Well he's also 32 years older since that tape, so it's actually kind of astonishing that his voice is in as excellent shape as it is though.
