10 years (their first album was good, haven't heard anything from them in years...only thing that may save me)
Powerman 5000 (fucking really?!)
Shaman's Harvest
I Prevail (best known for a Taylor Swift cover...this oughta be fantastic)

How do you guys survive shitty festivals? I know drinking yourself silly is an option, but any other ideas? Thanks bros, at least I get to see Defeated Sanity on Monday haha.

I only know of Powerman 5000 from that list, but I don't actually know what they sound like. I know the singer is Rob Zombie's brother and they were a thing just as nu-metal started out. If it's any consolation, I often find that music I don't in theory like sounds tolerable live, when you've got all these extra-musical things going on. Hope that helps lol!

Luckily, I got the tickets on a "special sale" for $10 which means I didn't waste that much money haha. Hopefully there is other stuff to do there to keep my sanity haha.

Shaman's Harvest did the theme song for Drew McIntyre which was kinda cool. Other bands might be intolerable and the crowd will probably be worse

I think you have a bad attitude. I would go in with an open mind. I've been to several shows, for one reason or another, with bands I would never listen at home. But the live experience is often something different all together. I'm not saying I appreciated all of these bands live but at times I was pleasantly surprised. I have even thought some bands were amazing live but I still don't like them on record. Its not far fetched that you might actually have a good time. And if not for the bands so perhaps because of the company. So lay off the attitude and go with the flow. You might end up with a good evening.

Because as is right now you almost already decided its going to be shitty and no matter what happens that is probably how you'll feel regardless.

Actually Powerman 5000 is great, and better than half the bands at MDF anyway. Don't play elitist when you have crappy taste, boy.

Seriously though, don't be such a dick. Asking you to watch bands isn't nearly the shittiest date a lady friend could ask you to do (theme parks, dancing lessons, or going to a nightclub come to mind), so man up. Whining about it on a forum is one of the least mature things to be doing about such a first-world problem. "omg guysss, my gf is making me go to see bands I do not like!!!"

You remember all those times you took her to see underground porn grind gigs and she didn't complain once because she loved you. Do the same. Man up. The gig may be shitty, but if you like the girl, you just deal with it. That's life.
