Why are there certain users listed with their results list? Is it because their opinions matter most? Just curious about how that system works.

In the OP, it says there were 46 votes cast. Under that, I see 46 user lists. You do the math.

Yeah, but was it like an electoral system where certain users represent a body of voters or was it an open system?

Um, it's just an open system for anyone who has been a member before the game started...what makes you think otherwise?

It was an open system.

I've just seen too many Oliver Stone films I guess.

I really would have liked to see Queensryce much higher. I guess they just don't immediately spring to peoples' minds as a heavy metal band per se. And what, only one vote for Warlock or Doro in total? Why no Doro love? Plus I would have expected to see more Megadeth. They're as much a heavy band as a thrash one, and arguably were even in the eighties.

Iron Maiden is well represented. Manilla Road was not. I would have voted for both.

Actually there were two votes for Warlock... mine was for Burning The Witches and Catachthonia voted for Triumph and Agony. As to be expected, female-fronted bands were severely overlooked, even with some really powerful classics that demand to be remembered. Aside from Warlock, my list included Acid, Zed Yago, Hellion, Messiah Force, and Chastain --- these are truly some of the finest traditional heavy metal bands out there! Check it.

EEEEEEEEEGATZ!

Overrated perhaps, but "a fucking piece of shit"? C'MON! All those ferocious beats and varied melodies, Rob's wicked lyrics/sick vocals, and those mind-bending, never-ending solos... and you think the album sounds shit? Simply impossible.

Painkiller is the greatest thing in the history of human existence, and the prehistory of the universe prior to that. If Chuck Norris was an album, it would be Painkiller.

Painkiller rocks overtime. I could only pick 2 Priest albums though.

I like Painkiller, but it's clearly not for everyone. Why is it impossible? It's not even the best Judas Priest album.

As far as I'm concerned, Painkiller was the next step in the Judas Priest catalogue for a faux-attempt genre change, for about the third time in the 80s (even though it was released in 1990). NO THANKS.

Painkiller is supposed to be some amazing hybrid of power/thrash/speed metal, but it fails at all of those, except for the killer double bass kick in the beginning of the title track. If I want speed metal, I'll listen to Thundersteel. If I want power metal, I'm going to dig into some Port Royal. If I want thrash metal, Violent Restitution is where I'm headed. Painkiller? Not on my watch.

Painkiller is a return to Priest's roots, it sounds more like Stained Class with a modern production than any of their 80s material.

No metalhead can resist the charms of Painkiller, you guys are dissing it just because of the huge fan base it have and you guys find it uncool to be part of a "flock of cows".

Let's not argue about who has shitty taste. We all know if FasterDisaster says it sucks, it must be true.

If you guys can't be civil and agree to accept whatever FasterDisaster says as truth, this thread will be locked.

Play nice.

Apparently you thought fucking wrong. Good music isn't good anymore.

Shit album or not, Painkiller IS massively overrated and is still not nearly as good as the 70's material (debut aside). Personally, if I wanted Stained Class at twice the speed and with more ridiculous vocals, I'd listen to Slayer :)

Yes, because it's not possible to listen to more than one album per genre.

Who got to vote in this poll? Sorry if that question was already answered.

EDIT: I think I ought to clarify this. I could see who voted, but I was more interested in why specifically those individuals got to vote.
