Mourning Beloveth - Dust

Both Rotting Christ and Mourning Beloveth are playing a show up here on the same 'effing day in a few months time. Such a soul-rending decision between them, but as beautiful as this is, the Greek lads have won my ticket-money this time.

In Solitude - A Buried Sun, off Sister

I love this song's ending. It's very haunting, yet also delicate and pretty.

Carnival Phantasm OST - Super Affection

This chorus is made of aural heroin, and I must get my fix.

I should try this.

Trollraum from (2005) Verdunkeln - Verdunkeln (2010 Remaster of the 2004 Untergang Demo).
Nice on first listen. Thanks, Inhumanist.

Haha this comment makes me want to listen to Mithras again, it has definitely been a while.

Vader - Welcome to the Morbid Reich
I find this less monotonous than some of Vader's earlier releases. A lot of fun either way.

Rattenfänger - Epistolae Obscurorum Virorum

Heard about this in another thread and it has completely captivated me. Fucking awesome songwriting, great guitar sound, nice varied drumming with lots of details, nice guttural vocals... What's not to like?

disembowelment - the spirits of the tall hills

I don't think I'll ever get tired of this track or the album it belongs to. It's untouchable and bleeds such a unique atmosphere from every pore of its being that I become hypnotized by it.

I have to be in one hell of a mood to listen to Sunn O))), but I do like them. Altar and Monoliths and Dimensions are quite good albums.

Fleshgod Apocalypse - Labyrinth

Still quite good, and one that I spin frequently. Haters of Agony need not apply, but for the rest of us, we can enjoy a more diverse album with 300% more operatic vocals that actually fit. It took a couple of listens for this to click, but now that it does, I am quite pleased with it. :)

Yeah I definetely have to be in the mood for it too. Monoliths is one of my Sunn O))) favourites as well, but my all time favourite is ØØ Void.

I hadn't heard them before the new album was released, but À l'âme Enflammée is really enthralling. Awesome black metal

It really is awesome man. If you've not done so already, you'd do well to check out Il Était une Forêt. Also excellent

Electric Wizard - Funeralopolis

I forget just how intense and enraged this track becomes in its later stages; it really stomps along. The whole Dopethrone album feels like something of an aside from the bands typical work, in fact - much more punchy and a touch less psychedelic.

Cryptic Slaughter - See Through You

The 60% MA rating for Stream of Consciousness is ludicrous. The guy who gave it 20% is a total moron. This is what I mean when I talk about how people focus too much on sound/production and to little on songwriting quality. In my book this deserves just as much praise as the first albums because it's nothing but an awesome continuation of the style with a somewhat worse production, but even here the review is pure hyperbole and you really wonder if it's the only underground metal record that guy ever heard because it's really hard for me to see the fucking problem. You can make out the (awesome) guitar riffs, basslines and and drums just fine and the vocals aren't any more unprofessional than before. This is fucking punk man! So treat it like punk. /rant

Amorphis - Black Winter Day

The keyboard melody which pops-up throughout the song is gorgeous; Amorphis are certainly a band I'm glad I launched myself into on a whim a few months ago.

Machinae Supremacy - Through The Looking Glass

Starts off with a beautiful piano melody and then the guitar kicks in with so much energy. The song gets intense with emotions from the vocalist that you can't help but go insane. Such an outstanding song... Highly recommended to listen NOW!!!
