Somebody mentioned this band earlier in the thread, but only their DEMO release Damnations Pride. However it was not until 1998 that somebody/someone finally decided to release a proper CD compilation of all of Obscurity's DEMOS (Ovations To Death, Damnations Pride, DEMO 1992). And it came thanks to Scarlet records.

The music here is very furious and refreshing black/death from 1986, 1987. The true highlights are ofcourse the first two demos. Coming from the years mentioned above, they sounded very little to non from other early Swedish death metal contemporaries. And the only comparison can be made to the death metal masters Merciless, who we know came later on...

Hello,

I recorded this song back in '94 on a local radio station (this was good ol' time... Anyway, it gives the only clue : it must be previous to summer 94) and now I'm just starving to know which band it is, in order to buy it.. As I obviously forgot to record its name...

Here is the mp3

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Bib7NS2hF4

can you help me which band is it ?

Embalmed Boiling Humans demo. Distributed in 1993, this demo contains 8 tracks totaling 30+ minutes which is unheard of with most demos. Ive had this for a while now and kind of rediscovered it, after listening to it for the first time in years ive only now come to truly appreciate this gem.

Broken hope Demo 2

Unburied/Splattered Cadaver Demo 1996 I prefer their demo material alot more compared to their full lengths.

Grotesque infection - Consumption of Human Feces Demo 1992. These guys dont take themselves too seriously as you can most likely tell from the album and a few song titles, nonetheless its still entertaining.

Spina Bifida - Ziyadah

Embalmed Boiling Humans was reissued with the band's next work under another name. Great stuff...I am exclusively distributing the disc in the US. Only 500 copies made.

Here's another reissue down:

Image

This one has four bonus rehearsal tracks and originally intended gold pantone throughout the layout. Not the shitty Nuclear Blast yellow. Depravity and Xenomorph are next in line.

Best thread ever. Benediction and Krabathor totally destroy, and I may never have heard of them if not for this topic.

My humble contribution...

For those who don't know, Fear Factory started out as an industrial DM band. Their 1990 debut was never released until they broke up in the early 2000s. I'm not a fan of their usual style, but I found this pretty enjoyable.

I read a few days ago that a Sarcasm (Swe) discography will be released by To the Death (?). Apparently they've done some stuff from Sorcery, Obscurity, Repugnant and a couple others. Unfortunately it's only being released on vinyl which means I'll have to wait for the rip, but it's good news either way.

Ït looks like this hasn't been mentioned yet:

Not very original but very solid and - apparently - not very known.

Witness Infernal Heirarchy.

This and the False Prophet material are getting proper release treatments. Listen to the whole thing...both sides of the single are on that youtube clip.

Since some of you had asked what Toxaemia had sounded like, here was a clip I did last year before I released the 2CD compilation. The first disc is remixed/remastered by Dan Swano, the second is untouched originals. I have 30 copies left of the first press of the CD.

Nothing, aesthetically. I haven't made the 2nd press yet but the matrix will surely be different for those that are CD collectors. Just an FYI that I have 30 of the first press left...so they are almost gone.

There are a bunch of samples on youtube if you want to check 'em out.

I read Necrophiliac's - Chaopula is due for re-issue either later this year or next year by Xtreem Music. Check out their forthcoming section on their website. Seems Dave Rotten still owns the rights for the Drowned Records stuff as he's going to be re-issuing some other Drowned releases too.

While I'm at it, can someone please re-issue the following on CD?

Burial - Relinquished Souls
Gutted - Bleed for Us to Live
Internal Decay - A Forgotten Dream
Mortuary - Blackened Images
Desecrator - Subconscious Release
Ceremony - Tyranny From Above
Decomposed - Hope Finally Died
Delirium - Zzooouhh
Vomiturition - A Leftover
Immortalis - Indicium de mortuis
Bloodstone - Hour of the Gate
Jumpin' Jesus - The Art of Crucifying

I believe the Gutted cd was re-released already some time ago.

EDIT: As far as I remember I saw a reissue of it years ago on either an online auction or mailorder. If this was the one I saw, then it definitely need a new proper re-release: http://www.discogs.com/Gutted-Bleed-For ... se/1775849

Disaffected - Vast

Image

To me this is a Death Metal classic. More outstanding due to the fact that this band hails from Portugal, a country not well known for its Death Metal scene, outside of bands like Gangrena and Desire, ofcourse.

What we have here is very atmospheric, crushing/heavy, and technical Death Metal. All mixed so well together the final result is breathtaking. Something like Atheist and Unanimated, sharing ideas and then putting an album together. Truly great stuff in Disaffected's Vast.

Nah I'm pretty sure it's OOP. I seem to recall seeing some copies of it going for $100+ dollars not that long ago.

Also someone should try to get their hands on Inquisitor - Walpurgis, Sabbath of Lust.

Sorry, broski, did not mean to knock your country's DM scene, LOL. But to me, regardless of how many DM bands there are in Portugal, Disaffected still stands as a crown jewel among the rest. It is superior Death Metal in my opinion.

And you're right, Desire is more doom, I just had no other references from which to draw from, hehe.

Take care, sir.

Also about Gutted, I have a spare copy in near mint condition. Only flaw is a punch-hole in the barcode. Just in case anyone is interested to trade.

An Inquisitor Re-Issue would be sweet and probably a lot of the Wild Rags originals that haven't been reissued. I would like to see both Killengod albums repressed or completely reissued as well.

Disaffected are truly a must buy/listen, I've been getting crazy at trying to find a copy of it for a reasonable price (not Ebay prices which go beyond $100) and I've had no luck so far. But then again so many Portuguese cds from the nineties are expensive as hell!

I'll second phantaz and his recommendation of Thormethor because they're also pretty twisted, and that album is actually more expensive than Disaffected's! Sacred Sin is also a great choice if you're after Lusitanian death metal. ;)

Seems this thread hasn't seen some life for a while, so I'll throw out another recommendation.

Corpus Rottus - Ritual of Silence
Image

Midpaced, somewhat thrashy death metal from the US.

Sample - Spawns of Human Waste.

Good album, but I really have a problem with the very sucky production. I have the cd from the Mexican label, don't know if it's the same with all prints?

Gonna revive this for Mortal Slaughter - Lepers (1993)

Don't recall seeing this one mentioned in here yet. It is some good polish thrashy death metal with catchy riffs though a bit sloppy at times. Only album by this band.
