Trist - PoslednĂ Cesta

Long? Yes. Repetitive? Yes. Good? Hell yes! One of the best black/doom songs out there.

Black Sabbath - Wheels Of Confusion

I shit you not, this is my first ever listen to Vol 4. So excited! The other Sabbath classics are well known to me, but somehow I missed that one.

Edit: 2000 posts!
I guess I should slow the fuck down a bit now.

Kataklysm - Determined [Vows of Vengeance]

So, what's wrong with Heaven's Venom? The reviews here aren't the most favorable, yet I'm not listening anything particularly offensive here. I like it.

Death - Baptized in Blood

This sounds a lot better to me now than it did three years ago when I didn't really get it. Tasty riffs abound in the entire album.

Impaled Nazarene - Suffer in Silence

One of the best ImpNaz tracks and the best one on All That You Fear.

Dream Theater - To Live Forever, off some early live concert

Man, James LaBrie definitely puts some of his best singing into this. Absolutely glass shattering Halford-esque shrieks going on here. A shame we never got hear those on studio albums actually.

Black Sabbath - Symptom of the Universe

Propulsive proto-metal epic. Excellent lyrics and a great, driving riff make this a winner.

Iommi's main riff in that song is burned into my head. So heavy.

Awesome tech death. Similar to Anomalous but with a more cohesive song structure.

Murmuure- S/T. Wow. Great murky production here, though vocals are way too buried (in fact I can't even tell if there is any...!) Reminds me a bit of Peste Noire...

It's as if someone put Cthulhu through a lemon-juicer, and the band drank it. Murky, atmospheric and positively eldritch.

Deep Purple - III

Working my way through the entire back catalog as a refresher for Now What?! For all of Blackmore's accolades and the accomplished vocalists through the years, whomever your preference is in that regard, Ian Paice and Jon Lord are who really define the band's sound for me. Such a combination of manic intensity and grandiose punctuation in their own respective ways.
