Origin - Antithesis - Wrath of Vishnu

Its been a little while since I listened to Origin. I almost forgot how awesome Antithesis is.

I have never forgotten how good Antithesis is! That is one of my favourite albums ever, without a weak song anywhere to be found. All the band members were at their peak here. Entity doesn't quite live up to it, even though there's some killer material, but Antithesis will likely remain their best album.

Tech Death stuff with smatterings of bro type slammage for good measure.

I really like this one. The closing instrumental rules, too.

Cattle Decapitation - Monolith of Inhumanity

Great album, and it made me buy The Harvest Floor over the weekend. This band is not perfect, since I think the vocalist never really shuts up, but the music is really good. :) I love tapping my fingers to the snare pattern on "Gristle Licker" just for fun.

Alice In Chains - Hollow

Their new song came out today apparently. And so far it sounds great, I really liked their last album with the new vocalist, and this one's sounding just like the good old AiC I know and love.

Evoken - The Mournful Refusal

I've really been enjoying Evoken, with the exception of the vocals from their first demo. They improved that shit right away.

^Excellent band. They consistently get better and better with every release.

NP: Deströyer 666 - The Barricades Are Breaking

Its true, Defiance sounds much more clear on vinyl than it does on CD. Actually doesn't sound like a complete mashed-up clusterfuck of loudness. This is good. :np:

Yeah, they are cool. Check out their first two ep's "Strength to Carrion" and "Aporia" if you haven't done so.

Down - Three Suns and One Star

I have never listened to this band before, although I've heard of them. Not too bad, unsure of whether or not I want to pursue more tracks.

I couldn't get into Archaeaeon at all, but Parasignosis is awesome and I hope they continue in that direction for whatever they do next.

Monumental Torment - Element of Chaos

Haven't heard this one in a while. It's triggered to fuck, so that alone would make a lot shy away, but I enjoy this tech-death chaos, even if I do prefer Brain Drill.

It's been too long since I last listened to this. Possibly my favourite death/thrash album ever... NAPALM SATAN, NAPALM SATAN, NAPALM SATAN, 666!

Instant masterpiece. Sick heavy doom laden riffage, stunning chorus and short but effective solo. Trademark Alice yet sounds very fresh.

The Foreshadowing - The Fall, from Days of Nothing

I got this album in a CD lot I won on eBay quite some time ago, and this has been my first listen.... I am kicking myself for waiting so long to give it a spin.... It is actually quite good.

Holy mother of God! This is what AIC should be - as good a possible sans Layne. Not sacrificing their heaviness. Loving this and will surely go see them live ASAP. This mix of heavy guitars, melody, and layered vocals really gets me wet. lol
