I dont think that's a good thing. Misfit74 wrote: I haven't gotten through the whole thing, yet, but I can tell you that the new Splattered Entrails is fucking excellent. Wow. I dig the artwork a lot, too. Splattered Entrails - Depths Of Obscurity (2012) This is very good. Thanks man . |

Here is the teaser for the new Devourment record http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3ZRk1BN2OC0 It says it will be released winter 2013, but I hope they mean jan-march 2013, I don't think I can wait a year, I just don't have it in me. |

Song from the new Deeds of Flesh album: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rWd0M-Uo1O8 Eh.. its alright, but its basically the same style as the last album which doesn't really sound like Deeds to me, sounds more like every other Unique Leader California tech death band these days. If this had been released as an Odious Mortem song no one would bat an eye. |

I've found a fair few cool bands in this thread, and it's pretty much entirely when you or lennonlikesmetal put in the effort to do more than link a cover art, or even a cover art that has already been posted on the same goddamned page already. |

Just because others are too lazy to do their own homework. I'm sure this site has an excellent band/album search function. And nobody has heard of Google or Youtube. Nobody ever. |

lord_ghengis wrote: It's a fucking discussion board. You've been here a year and a half, you should know how this place operates by now. List threads are shitty, and duplicate picture filled list threads are drawn out and shitty. So, let me get this straight? You just stopped by the Guttural Secrete thread and this thread just to complain? The only thing shitty about each of the two threads is that you have used them as a platform to bitch. Constructive criticism is fine, man. No reason to be a douche about it. Going around and condemning music or genres you don't care for brings even less to the forum than 'drawn out picture-filled threads'. It detracts from the community as a whole, as well as detracting from threads some others of us might enjoy otherwise. |

Posting album covers with a short sentence is pretty lame, indeed. Keeping a thread alive with these kinda posts sucks. Just let it die, man, poor thread. This goes for everyone else too, put some thoughts in your posts, guys. And lol @ Aeon on the previous page, this is not even BDM |

At what point did I condemn the music, all my posts bar one in the GS thread mentioned how awesome I think GS are, and I've said in here about how good this thread has been for me when people put in effort. Not one word of my posts have been about BDM or even any BDM bands being sucky. I did simply come to this thread to complain I admit since I don't really have anything new to add which others haven't posted, but it was to complain about the total shitfest that the posting has become, because this thread is otherwise the absolute best place for BDM information if it wasn't for the rampant asininity. |

I was referring to him bashing folks in the Guttural Secrete thread for not conforming to his specific genre beliefs, but cool, whatever. Words with posts is a constant here and I understand that. It's time to let it go and move on. |

I dont know, I love this thread, and I love misfit74's posts, found tons of great bands from him, so respect. I don't think there are well written reviews of brutal death metal, and if you take the time to look for them your going to be disappointed (except for MutantClannfear's review of the new Epicardiectomy).http://www.metal-archives.com/reviews/Epicardiectomy/Abhorrent_Stench_of_Posthumous_Gastrorectal_Desecration/345889/ anyways there's been a bunch of cool new shit in the past week or so in the BDM genre, mainly the new Defeated Sanity, Guttural Secrete and another new Devourment song released, and I loved them all, and they slam hard as fuck, haha. |

Thanks, man. I think we should keep the thread going with the understanding that it's just like any other thread here on MA: there must be sufficient words with posts . Verbal dialogue - perhaps even sufficient banter . Information and stuff . If interested, one could start with my rookie, over-zealous, ultra-praising, gushing review of Katalepsy's Autopsychosis (2013). Yes, I realize 'Slam' may not be the singularly most perfect genre description, but for the sake of finding a title...'slamming technical brutal death metal' didn't quite compress properly. The album art is some of my favorite, too, and although it can be found earlier in the thread it's worth seeing again! |

Hey everyone. I happened upon this thread and figured I'd join in. Please excuse my atrocious username, I came up with it years ago when I first tried to register at the archives. Anyhow, here are some Brutal Death Metal bands/albums that I haven't yet seen mentioned here that I rather enjoy: Goemagot- Eradication of Insignificant Beings Rather interesting new band with some techy riffs here and there. Relics of Humanity- Guided by the Soulless Call Interesting band with a wall of sound, and has a technical undercoat without being flashy. Vocalist is a beast. Formless Terror- Sovereign Chaos Authority Some good riffage going on here, pretty damn catchy. Membro Genitali Befurcator- Human Destruction Probably wins the award for most nonsensical band name, but they put out some rather catchy stuff. Vocals could use some work though. |

And some others, sans pictures: Habitual Defilement- The Redemption of Past Supremacy Cystic Dysentery- Cult of Death Logic of Denial- Atonement Hecatomb- Mighty Chaos Natrium- Elegy for the Flesh Embryonic Devourment- Fear of Reality Exceeds Fantasy(although really more tech death than brutal death) Act of God- Kaosism Intracranial Butchery- Keepin it Grind Dead for Ten Weeks- Bloodline Detriment I'll add some more later. |

I actually really like Cephalotripsy's Uterovaginal. There's something about the catchiness and groove of it. Slams are cool, the album is almost nothing but slams, therefore it is cool. It's a surprisingly pleasurable listen and can be either remarkably headbangable or background noise to do the dishes by. Plus, gravity slams! Also some respect must go to Enmity. As far as brutal death metal goes it's that particularly inaccessible zenith that no one's really got that near. Incredibly intense album, love it to bits etc. |

Plus, gravity slams! Yeah Cephalotripsy's Utervaginal is IMO the perfect slam CD, it just can't get any better than that or at least I haven'y heard anything that compares yet. Here is a another good BDM band http://www.metal-archives.com/albums/Engorgement/Excruciating_Intestinal_Lacerations/346470 I've recc'd them in the past, but thought I would do it again, gives me a strong 'tripsy vibe. |

As I said, posting some more BDM bands I enjoy: Disembowled Corpse- Chronic Disembowelment It says in the inside of the traycard "Straight Festering Death Metal", an apt statement. Chugging catchy riffs, and how can you not like a band with a song dedicated to Herbert West? Abdicate- Fragmented Atrocities Some fast and heavy shit on display. Their album Transcend Through Sacrifice ain't bad either. Diminished- Origin of Apocalypse Nice crunchy and often catchy riffs. Production isn't the best, but it's good enough. |

Post subject: | Re: Your favorite Brutal Death Metal albums |
Horde Casket- Slab of Infinite Butchery Catchy heavy riffage. Yes, I like to use the word "catchy" quite a bit. Debodified- Utopia in the Eyes of a beast More catchy riffage and fast drumwork. I don't think I'd give it quite the 100% grade that a reviewer gave it, but I do enjoy it quite a bit. And the theme of this last two posts is: Jon Zig cover art. |

Acranius - When Mutilation Becomes Homicidal (2013) Pounding drums, massive slams, and great sound. This is some of the more well-produced slamming brutal death I've found and they aren't skimpy with the slams. Good guitar tone. Vulvectomy - Abusing Dismembered Beauties (2013) Another piece of brutal, slamming goodness that sounds excellent. My favorite track is actually the last one. The guitars sound sick and dirty. |

I listened to some of that Acranius album on Youtube, something about it didnt really click with me. I suppose I'll give it another shot just to make sure I didn't miss that something the first go round. That album art is wickedly bad-ass though, another Jon Zig masterpiece. Tombthroat- Eden Apocalypse Shredding riffage and pounding and fast drumwork, some good shit here. |

MA lists Acranius as 'Brutal Deathcore' but I think that needs to be changed. Nothing 'Deathcore' about it. That opening track kicks my ass. LOVE IT. |
Author: | davenion [ Sat May 18, 2013 11:36 pm ] |
Post subject: | Re: Your favorite Brutal Death Metal albums |
I gave that Acranius album another shot, still didn't click. The main thing that I couldn't really get into were the vocals, which despite my limited exposure to the sub-genre were what sounded a bit deathcore-ish to my ears. Damn, and I really wanted the album to be as interesting as that cover art. |
