If anybody is in the Denver area you can check out Angelo`s. They have a few places around the metro area. They have a pretty good used section. I bought Insomnium`s In the Hall of Waiting the other day from there. I hear 2nd spin is an alright place as well.

A heads-up to all Chicago metalheads: If you're bummed out about Metal Haven closing and still prefer an actual storefront to ordering online, fear not! There is another metal store in town: Apocalipsis Nocturnal. Make sure to swing by Metal Haven's Armageddon Sale first, though!

Looking at Metal Haven's website the conact page specifies that the store-front has moved, but not that the store has closed. Anybody care to fill me in on whether this is the case or not? I suppose I'll try giving them a call as well, but I'd also like to know any other places beyond what's already been mentioned so far for Chicago; I'm going to be there next weekend.

I'm going to be PCS'ing to Osan AB, Korea in August of this year, and I am wondering where the good metal shops might be? Also, if there might be any good bars that have live bands playing regularly? Thanks guys.

They're not closed yet, but that update is really old. The store moved about two or three years ago. When you get here, it should still be open but I'm afraid that it's been a bit cleaned out in the process of the Armageddon sale.

I found some more (no thanks to MA), not all of these sell exactly posters/t-shirts, but they're all kind of metal-related.

Search & Destroy - 25 Saint Mark's Place
Trash & Vaudeville Inc - 4 Saint Mark's Place

If you EVER came to Sao Paulo, in Brazil, please, come to The Galeria do Rock, it's a Shopping Center of Metal. Of course, there are a lot kind of people over there, Original Skinheads, Punks, Emos (bleh), J Rockers, K Rockers, Bikers, but most of them are the good old Metal Heads.

Oddly enough there aren't any metal stores in the Tampa bay area anymore.

Sound Exchange has three locations: Pinellas Park, Tampa, and Bradenton I believe is the last one.
I go to the one in Pinellas Park quite often, they have a great selection. Just recently bought a Virgin Steele album there, they had 3 releases from them at the time in the store.

It really sucks having to search through endless amounts of shitty deathcore/nu-metal CD's in FYE's "metal" section just to find something good.

Anybody know a good store around the Colorado Springs area?

There are 5 Independent Records in the Springs (two stores on Platte, one down in Security/Widefield, one in Old Colorado City on 31st St., and one downtown on Bijou St.), 1 up in Denver, and 1 in Pueblo.

Don't steal all the good stuff :|

There's two on Platte? I know of the one by the mall, but where's the other? Unless you're referring to the Annex...

Yeah, I consider the Annex a separate store, even though it's right next to the main one.

Well if you wanna drive allllllllllll the way out to Stroudsburg, there's a shop called the Mainstreet Jukebox and there's LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOADS of vinyl and CDs, and I've found so many good metal and punk and prog rock shit there. It's worth the road trip man.
