There is absolutely nothing metal about dolphins. Plus Euro "power" metal is a joke this band is no exception. There are a few good bands from that scene but most of them lack the essential ingedient for this genre POWER. The vast majority of them are too happy sounding. That's my opinion I hope I don't get another scolding from the mods for saying that.

edit: metalistkrieg, Stratovarius is definitely not the heaviest band around, but they've got their moments, as far as melodic metal goes. Infinity is definitely not heavy, or particularly good.

What's wrong with it? Looks like something from a mid-late '90s groove metal band, but not particularly offensive or painful to look at.

Holy shit, this one is incredible! It reminds me of something I would have attempted to draw as an ambitious and semi artistic youth (or maybe it was autisitc?). the terrible perspective on the arm (foreshortening? I can't remember what atists call it), in particular, reminds me of the days I used to spend drawing superheroes and shit.

Infinite was pretty good in my opinion, it's one of my favorite Stratovarius albums in fact. I really don't get all the hate towards it.

Different strokes for different folks. I spent a lot of time listening to Strato when I was getting into metal, and they sort of lost me at Destiny. Both albums have some decent tunes on them, but nothing that measures up to albums like Episode or Visions. I haven't listened to them much these days outside of the odd new album they release. I really enjoyed Elysium when it came out and Nemesis wasn't too bad.

That Dekapitator cover is awesome! I haven't heard that album in a while.

On the other hand I assume he takes his black metal really seriously, which btw contain very few black people.

It kinda sucks when a band with a series of awesome covers ends up putting out an album with a bland, boring cover.

The idea is not even that bad. It's just kinda sucky that the solar eclipse in the middle is one of the first images you find when you search "solar eclipse". Yeah guys, you could have done a better job on that. It's a pity because I actually like the "pirate ship interior" ornament. It fits the album. Decent album by the way.
