Started out as a Judas Priest cover band called Damnation. They also covered some early Metallica songs in their early years.

Wolverine won a few days in a recording studio after finishing second in a competition with 110 bands at "De Melkweg" in Amsterdam. They released the product of these sessions on the Wolverine EP and sold 600 copies in 1990 and more in the following year.
