The Mob was the original name of Queensrÿche, which they were convinced to change it by their then-manager after the release of their only demo. The name Queensrÿche was derived from their song "Queen of the Reich".

The demo was later re-pressed as the Queensrÿche EP after the name change. Geoff Tate was originally only a temporary member of the band for a few shows and the demo recordings, ...
