Some of the members had played in a band called Chariot prior to the inception of Superior, and released a demo in 1986. Superior was formed shortly after vocalist Florian Drumm departed.

The band split up at the end of 2007.

Not to be confused with the Power/Speed Metal Band Superior from Grebenstein.
