Kerry Cripe (singer) used to sing for Somber, another metal band from Lansing, MI. When Somber broke up, Kerry joined Summer Dying and brought along his devoted fan base. Kevin Kitchel, one of the guitarists from Somber, has credit on both of Summer Dying's albums for various recording and mastering-related work. The band was managed by Jamie M. Cripe, Kerry's sister.
