Oliver Magnum was founded in October 1983 by rhythm section Dan Kurtz & Curt Daughterty. Soon afterward they hooked up with guitarist Monte Humphrey & started to play gigs as an instrumental trio. In 1984, vocalist Mark Mueller left his old band to complete the lineup.
