Narita was formed by Mark Reale, under the original name of Mark Reale Project, after Riot disbanded in 1984.

They only released one demo before Sandy Slavin convinced Reale that Riot still had enough of a following to justify a reunion. Reale took bassist Don Van Stavern back to New York with him to reform Riot, ...
