Simply called Nanowar at first, the band added "of Steel" to their name to parody Rhapsody's name change to Rhapsody of Fire. Rhapsody vocalist Fabio Lione has featured as guest on stage singing with the band on a few occasions, and Daniele Carbonera also filled in as their drummer for a short spell.
