In Norse mythology, Níðhöggr (Malice Striker, often anglicized Nidhogg) is a dragon who eats the roots of the World Tree, Yggdrasill.

Níðhöggur recorded three demos in total during the band's tenure, but only released one. Kristján Guðmundsson played drums on an unreleased demo in 2002.
