In Scandinavian folklore, a 'Myling' is the phantasmal incarnation of the soul of a unbaptized child that has been forced to roam the earth until it can persuade someone to bury them properly. If one should prove unable to make it into the cemetery to bury them, the myling kills its victim in rage.
