Mordor arose from the ashes of the black metal band Ärog, founded in 1987 and split-up in 1990 without any official recordings released due to disagreements with the drummer. There is an unofficial split tape with G.O.R.A. (Gore Occult Rot Annihilation, another grind-black side project) and Mordor where Ärog are featured with 7 tracks.
