Medina Azahara is well known in Spain for being the most prominent band in the Rock Andaluz movement (Spanish for Andalusian Rock). Rock Andaluz consists of an Andalusian form of Rock music (usually Progressive Rock) that takes inspiration from the Spaniard region's historic musical traditions, such as Flamenco, Zapateado and many others.
