Headhunter were founded in 1989 after Schmier was fired from Destruction. They released four albums and toured Germany and Japan in the early 90's - the band split up around 1995/96. Jörg Michael also played in several other German bands and at the time was a well known studio drummer.

Not to be confused with the heavy metal band Headhunter, from Willich, Germany.
