Embodyment began playing shows when they were about 14 years old (under the Supplication moniker) around the Ft. Worth/Dallas area and was a death metal band until 1998 where they played deathcore on the album Embrace the Eternal, and immediately thereafter changed into a Christian rock band on the album The Narrow Shape of Things and have stayed to this style on every album since.
