The band started as Shadeclad Poetry, playing symphonic black metal. In 1999 the band was renamed after their song "Diablerie 4-D". After the debut full-length Henri Villberg, who wrote all the material, decided to quit his musical career and left the band, and soon Aleksi Ahokas left as well.
