Di'Anno was the first project of vocalist Paul Di'Anno after being fired from Iron Maiden. Three of its members had come from a NWOBHM/hard rock band Minas Tirith. While the band was originally named Lonewolf, they opted for the moniker Di'Anno, following a disagreement with another band that were going by that name.

While touring, Paul refused to play any Iron Maiden songs (much to the dismay ...
