Bruce started his solo career alongside his main gig in Iron Maiden in 1989 when Zomba Music asked him to create a song for the movie A Nightmare on Elm Street 5: The Dream Child. The song, Bring Your Daughter... to the Slaughter, was intended to be issued as a single, but the release was cancelled when it was decided that the song should be re-recorded by Iron Maiden.
