Founded by guitarist Dylan Ruskin and drummer Marco Pitruzzella in 2006.

Ruskin originally said Brain Drill were finished in 2008 when the other three band members left, but later decided to reform the band with a new line-up after vocalist Steve Rathjen rejoined.
