The band, by the time still called Exray was offered a contract with Metal Enterprises in 1990. One requirement for the band was to change their name to Asgard. They changed their name to Asgard in 1990 and signed the contract in 1991. The label released the band's debut album the same year, the band disbanded soon afterwards and Göttlich joined Grave Digger.
