Formerly known as Power Age (1977-1981), the band was renamed Arkangel in October 1981. Rogelio Sánchez played bass in Power Age, but not in Arkangel.
Between 2005 and 2007, Paul Gillman reunited with Arkangel to play live. During those years vocalist Luis González was still an official member of the band.
