Antigone formed in 1998, but were only active in the UK live circuit between 2000 and 2001, after which the band split up and the members went on to form Skaldic Curse and Indesinence.

Songs for a second demo had been written and played live, but were never recorded. A Desolate Musing remains the band's sole official release.
