The beginnings of the band can be found in 1987 when Jerry Cantrell's band Diamond Lie and Layne Staley's band Alice 'n Chains both broke up. Layne and Jerry started the band together in 1987. First under the name Mothra, then Fuck, and finally, Diamond Lie, which they suggest is a different band from the ...
