The band named themselves after a Black Sabbath song with the same name. The band started under the name Apocalypse, playing covers by Iron Maiden and The Cult. When they decided to concentrate on their own work, they played death metal for a while until Floor Jansen joined the band, whereupon the band's own style was soon formed.
