Мещера (Мещёра/Meshchera/Meshchyora) is a Finno-Ugric tribe that lived in the 13th century in the Meshchera Lowlands between the Oka and Klyazma rivers, as well as the Volga; occupying parts of the present-day Moscow, Vladimir and Ryazan oblasts.
