S.P. Senz and Pazzer formed the punk band Wermut in 1984/85. In 1990 they changed their name to Totenmond.

"Totenmond" translates to "Moon of the Dead". The band describe their music as "kontrollierter Krach" (controlled noise).

After the punk cover album "Auf dem Mond ein Feuer" (2001) the band took a break. Within this time, the new bassist Senf was integrated in the line-up.
