Alvacast broke up in 1991 when some members moved from Uruguay to Canada. By mid-1992, all members had relocated to Canada and the band reformed there. They were however unable to make it in the new market because of to their strong Spanish accent and heritage (Montreal is a predominantly French city) and they broke up again in 1994 (vocalist Charly having quit the band in 1993).
