Jyri Vahvanen and Miika Kokkola founded Battlelore in 1999 and released their first promo CD, "Warrior's Tale", that same year. The band caught the attention of Napalm Records with the release of their second demo, "Dark Fantasy", in 2000.
Battlelore was put on hold in October 2011 and announced its return to activity in early 2016.
