Split up around 1990, after the departure of Richard Muermans, and not being able to find a suitable replacement vocalist. Noud Smeets began Project Masquerade in 1991, playing some Masquerade songs and recording new material in 1993/94 with guest musicians. These sessions were unreleased until 2010's "Cybernetic Empire" CD.
