Biography

William "Bill" Michael Berger was well-known in the New Jersey music scene as a disc jockey, artist, label proprietor and music aficionado.

He had a long career in the music industry, starting out as a disc jockey at Upsala college, East Orange, New Jersey during his college years. In 1984 he became a disc jockey at New Jersey radio station "WFMU", where he hosted multiple radio shows over ...

Trivia

Hosted the show "The Hip Bone" at New Jersey radio station "WFMU" from 1984 to 1999, largely focussing on Indie music.

Hosted the show "My Castle of Quiet at New Jersey radio station "WFMU" from 2009 to 2017, largely focusing on Black Metal. He occasionally filled in under this name for other WFMU DJ's from 2001 to mid 2009.

Wm. coined the term "lo-fi" during the mid 80's.
