Biography
Rod Smallwood has been the manager of Iron Maiden for almost the entirety of the band's career. He is also the founder of Sanctuary Records (named after the Maiden song), and ran the label until it went public in 1998.
Trivia
The Iron Maiden B-side "The Sheriff of Huddersfield" is a tribute/send-up of Rod. The band members recall being so afraid of his reaction to the song that it was kept a secret from him until it was completely recorded.Together with Metal Hammer (UK) magazine's editor Alexander Milas, Rod has established Heavy Metal Truants, a charity bike ride.
