Biography
Walterbach was the founder and owner of Noise Records from 1984 until 2001; he also ran Hellhound Records and founded Sonic Attack Records in 2011, oriented towards digital download sales. In his 20s, he studied civil engineering and architecture in Münster, graduating in 1974 as an engineer. He relocated to Los Angeles, U.S.A., in 1994.Trivia
Walterbach started out as a punk gig organizer, eventually working at the SO36 Klub in Berlin. He also put out two punk compilations, Soundtracks zum Untergang, through his label Aggressive Rockproduktionen. When his interest in punk waned, he turned to heavy metal and started Noise Records, which he ran from 1984 until 2001.During the early days of Noise Records, he worked with Boggi Kopec.
